At Honest Practices, we believe the best dentistry is often the dentistry you never need.
That's why our approach to general dentistry focuses on prevention, early detection, patient education, and honest recommendations. Whether you're coming in for a routine exam or addressing a specific concern, our goal is to help you make informed decisions about your oral health without pressure or surprises.
Routine dental care helps identify issues before they become more complex and expensive.
Many dental concerns—including cavities, gum disease, cracked teeth, and oral cancer—can develop with little or no symptoms in their earliest stages. Regular preventive care allows us to address problems early and help patients avoid more extensive treatment later.
Many patients worry they'll be pressured into treatment they don't need.
At Honest Practices, our doctors are salaried, which means treatment recommendations are based on what's best for your health—not production goals.
If treatment is needed, we'll explain why. If there are multiple options, we'll discuss them. If monitoring is appropriate, we'll tell you that too.
You're not alone.
Many of our patients delayed care because of busy schedules, dental anxiety, previous negative experiences, or uncertainty about where to start.
Our goal is simple: meet you where you are and help you move forward comfortably and confidently.

General dentistry focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of common oral health concerns. This includes routine exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, oral cancer screenings, and other treatments designed to help maintain a healthy smile.
Most patients benefit from a dental exam and professional cleaning every six months. Depending on your oral health, medical history, or risk factors, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits.
A routine dental exam typically includes an evaluation of your teeth, gums, bite, existing dental work, and oral tissues. Your dentist may also recommend digital X-rays and perform an oral cancer screening as part of a comprehensive assessment.
Yes. Many dental problems, including cavities, gum disease, infections, and oral cancer, can develop without symptoms in their early stages. Regular exams help identify concerns before they become more serious.
You're not alone. Many patients delay dental care because of busy schedules, dental anxiety, financial concerns, or previous experiences. Our goal is not to judge where you've been—it's to help you move forward comfortably and confidently.
Dental X-rays allow us to see areas that can't be evaluated during a visual exam alone, including between teeth, beneath existing restorations, and below the gumline. We only recommend X-rays when they are clinically appropriate.
Bleeding gums are often a sign of inflammation caused by plaque buildup and can be an early indicator of gum disease. Healthy gums generally should not bleed during normal brushing and flossing.
Very early areas of demineralization may sometimes be reversed with improved oral hygiene and fluoride exposure. However, once a cavity forms, it typically requires treatment to prevent further damage.
The best ways to reduce your risk of cavities include brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing regularly, limiting sugary foods and drinks, maintaining a balanced diet, and attending routine dental visits.
An oral cancer screening is a quick and painless examination of the mouth, tongue, throat, and surrounding tissues to look for signs of abnormalities that may require further evaluation. Screenings are an important part of preventive dental care.
Yes. Many patients visit us for a second opinion regarding recommended treatment. We'll review your concerns, explain your options, and help you make an informed decision without pressure.
Our doctors are salaried, which means treatment recommendations are based on what's best for your health—not production goals. We believe patients deserve honest answers, transparent recommendations, and a clear understanding of their options.
Absolutely. Many of our patients have dental anxiety or have had difficult dental experiences in the past. Our team is committed to creating a comfortable, supportive environment and we offer sedation options for patients who may benefit from additional relaxation during treatment.
We do our best to accommodate dental emergencies as quickly as possible. If you're experiencing tooth pain, swelling, a broken tooth, or another urgent concern, contact our office and we'll help determine the next steps.
We accept many dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental. Because coverage varies by plan, our team can help verify your benefits before your visit.
